My Assessment:
My daughter smelt this moisture milk and fell instantly in love; it smells like vanilla ice cream, even I was tempted to taste it! This product looks extremely thick in the bottle but it has the consistency of a lotion. This leave-in cream did an amazing job of keeping my daughter’s hair moisturized; it instantly absorbed and left her hair feeling incredibly soft for days, I had to try it for myself. After using this as a moisturizer I was in love! It was a winner for both of us, since she is natural and I am relaxed, I was overjoyed at the fact that I had found a moisturizer that worked wonderful for the both of us. This product was everything we wanted in a moisturizer; smelt great, ingredient list was short and sweet, good consistency and worked great! This moisture milk was so amazing we instantly made it a staple and decided to stock up but when I got to the store this is what I was meet with....................

New Ingredients:
Deionized Water, Behentromonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Aloe Barbadenis Leaf, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Ternifolia (Macadamia Nut) Seed Oil, Sorbitol, Camellia (Green Tea) Sinensis Leaf, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Milk, Rosa Canina (Rose Hip) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Slippery Elm (Ulmus Fulva) bark, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Scent and Love!

The company reformulated the product so that they can sell it at Target, I was disappointed and sceptical but I decided to give it a try anyway. BIG MISTAKE!! They messed up a great product! The new formula smell and look the same in the bottle but the similarities stop there. It is much thicker now, so thick that you have to put up a fight to get it out the bottle. It does not absorb or moisturize our strands like the old formula; instead we are left with dry hair at the end of each day and product build up before the end of the week. Saying that I’m disappointed is an understatement, IDK, maybe they were short on “Love” when they made this batch; nevertheless I won’t be repurchasing this moisture milk.

Am I the only one who feels like companies kick you in your gut and spit in your face when they “reformulate” a perfectly good product?

  1. I totally understand where you are coming from and it sucks when it happens. Hunt around and see if you can find the old formula till you find another staple. Great review!

  2. YES!!!! I liked the old formula of SCurl. The new formula irritates my scalp.
